Bill retired from NHS clinical work after 40 years. He has been a consultant orthopaedic surgeon for 34 years. He still carries out non-clinical work for the NHS.

Bill trained in surgery in Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, Aberdeen and Bath.

He still consults and operates at Albyn Hospital, carrying out mainly primary hip and total and partial knee replacements. He no longer does revision joint surgery.

He is happy to assess patients with spinal problems, but if they require surgery, he will refer them to colleagues.
