Professional profile:
Mr Johnstone qualified from Edinburgh University in 1986. His registrar training was in Edinburgh and Aberdeen. He was a Senior Lecturer at Aberdeen University from 1997- 2002. He has been a Professor of Robert Gordon’s University and a Consultant at NHS Grampian since 2002. Mr Johnstone introduced arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and elbow to Aberdeen. He is a visiting Professor of the University of Perugia, a Clinical Adviser to Orthopaedic multi-national companies and is the Scottish Life Sciences Innovator of the Year 2012.
